At 21 May 2025, Exomad Green and Microsoft announced the largest biochar carbon removal (BCR) agreement in history to date, with total amount of 1.2 million tonnes of CO2 for 10-years duration. This climate deal milestone is supported by Carbonfuturefor the MRV+ system and Puro Earth standard.

The tonnes will be delivered over a period of 10 years.
The agreement includes a contractual agreement of Carbonfuture‘s MRV and 3rd party verification and certification under the Puro.earth Standard.
Exomad Green is also only the 6th supplier to have sold a total of over 1 million tonnes of CDR so far.
With over 1.7 million tonnes of CDR sold, Exomad Green moves up to 5th on the CDR.fyi Suppliers Leaderboard.
Microsoft continues to stay on top of the CDR.fyi Purchasers Leaderboard, with over 21.6 million tonnes in purchases to date.
Carbonfuture has facilitated over 1.4 million tonnes of CDR as a MRV provider and a market intermediary.

Exomad Green has signed an offtake agreement with Microsoft for 1.24 million tonnes of CDR, in what is the single-largest biochar carbon removal (BCR) deal in record. Exomad Green’s goal is to sequester 1 megatonne of CO₂ annually by 2027.
