South Lampung, Indonesia (5 Oct 2025)
Biochar production is completed.
We also wanted to prove that biochar is beneficial for farming, so we planned prior to the site visit for an survey analysis.
After finishing the production, we cooled down the biochar, took it out of the Kon-Tiki kiln, and weighed it before we spread the biochar and applied to the fruit trees (durian, mango, avocado, rambutan, etc) for observation.
The farmers were eager to try biochar, especially when they heard that it helps soil retention, reduces the need for fertilizer, and increases crop yield.
This is why field research matters: we learn, we test, and we prove the farmers’ benefit directly
Real experiment. Real farmers. Real impact.
