Indochar – Helping farmers, healing soil, removing carbon
Indochar is focusing on biochar
We’re a group of high school students who care deeply about the Earth. Our mission is to fight climate change, not with fancy machines, but with smart ideas and a love for nature. In many places, leftover biomass are just burned, which pollutes the air. But we do something different: we turn them into Biochar. This “black gold” is a powerful, natural material that helps the soil and the planet. It doesn’t just cut emissions. It goes back into the soil, helps farmers grow better crops, improves the soil, and stores carbon underground for years. It’s part of something called the circular economy, where nothing goes to waste and everything has a purpose. Better for farmers, better for the Earth, and better for all of us.

Project Overview
Our goal is to help one village and one farmer at a time by starting with just a handful of biochar. That means we will begin small. Our plan is to do the “proof of concept” by testing biochar production in one local community.
Technology
We want to start a pilot project in one location. We will give the farmer a Kon-Tiki kiln and teach them how to make biochar from their leftover crops. We will also explain the benefits of using biochar in farming.
Dream Big and Start Small
We have already learned a lot about how to make biochar, and now we are confident. We believe we can show the world that we can “Dream Big and Start Small”, starting today!
